This is awesome, man!

The overlay of paper on to the watercolor background is a stunning concept. Moreover, you really seem to execute it artfully and precisely. Very nice work.

Amazing work...

I have to love the style and detail you put into this piece. Being a fan of pen and ink I can see the beauty in such a style. This piece also has something I usually neglect, a background; I think that really adds to it. You did this brilliantly. Great job! :D

Igmon responds:

Thanks man! I have actually started doing this with sketches, I have a lot that was just either a background or a character. It's tricky with a pen because it's hard to make sure the foreground is still prominent.

Tea time! :D

Awesome drawing as always, by the way. Gotta love the dark spirited themes throughout your works. This one in particular seems to blend both cartoon and realist art styles. I really think you combined the two rather well. The only criticism I have is that it's a bit too simple. That is, it could stand a little more steam or perhaps a bit more shading.

Luxembourg responds:

Always glad to hear from you, Hobo!
I agree concerning the simplicity. It could always do with a bit more, and by that I also mean that I could have populated the drawing a little more, as well.
I'm glad the blending between realism and stylism worked well, because I was worried the spirit and the kettle didn't mesh very well.
Thank you very much for the comment!

I'm really tired right now, so don't expect much.

Anyhow, I really like the simplicity and exactness of your drawing. On the other hand it seems as though it could stand a little more detail. That said, it's still a nice piece. Good job :)

Wicked!

I love the use of color and the almost undersea vibe it gives off. The character you've portrayed, which is my favorite aspect of this drawing (not to say that the background isn't equally as stunning), is very dynamic. That is, the character very much has it's own anatomy and is, in that perspective, a believable figure. In turn, the background also adds to the reality of the drawing. Despite having thick, black, cartoony lines on your character (which are awesome, mind you), the drawing sustains a vague sense of reality.

The composition itself is entirely amazing. Overall, there are no major flaws (unless being mindbogglingly stunning an art piece would constitute as a flaw).

I've seen some of your work before and it is absolutely brilliant. Might I ask, what did you use to color this piece? It appears to me as if it were done in photoshop, but you've either done it so skillfully or perhaps it's that it's in a different medium, because there is no trace of the telltale digital brushstrokes that so remarkably denote the use of photoshop. In a sense I think that adds to the beauty of this piece as well. Anyways, I love your art. Cheerio!

Artofinca responds:

Thanks for the lovely comment!
I use lots of custom made brushes and scanned traditional textures

This is absolutely beautiful!

The way you made the lines of light behind the dragon is a stunning effect! The background is simple but very colorful and I love your shading. Great job on this!

Amaruuk responds:

Thank you! :3

Nice concept.

Simple, but still colorful and stylized. I really think the shading has a lot of style. Very unique... It's not realistic, but it's sure unique xD Not to mention cool, mind you. I really like how you did this. I sort of like the background but if you had left it blank I think I would have liked it a bit more... I'm not entirely sure about that, though. I like your signature in the corner, by the way.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I have no idea how... but I love how you made such a simple design look so textured and flipping awesome! I really love it! :D

I would bumph too, if I was with a dj squid...

Nice job dude. I really like the simple and funny style you have going. I like the pun off of 'skull candy' too. :)

Awesome sauce.

I really like the simple yet complimentary background (that's always a point of weakness for me. The zippers are really cute too. They make a really nice contrast with the demonic face. I also like the way you gave this guy a sort of gravity of his own. It's as if his belly wants to go to the right, or as if he's sort of leaning. Anyway, I really like it. Great job! :D

Old NG rat. Much love.
